In two consecutive years, the Gold prizes of Lighthouse Award are given to Phu My 3 BOT Power Co, Ltd. (PM3). This result is a continuous effort of the PM3’s collective staff, which has demonstrated the sustainable and solid development of the company in many fields, especially in the field of production and business.
7% OF ELECTRICITY PRODUCTION NATIONWIDE
In 2009, despite the shutdown in one month for periodical maintenance (3 years), PM3 still fulfilled the production plan by 3%, with the power output of more than 4.4 billion MWh, profit before tax of US$ 64 million, contribution of VND172 billion to the State budget. In 2010, PM3 attempt to produce 5 billion MWh, ensure a stable power supply to the national grid. Currently, the power output of PM3 accounts for 7% of the total national electricity production.
This achievement is a crystallization of constant endeavour of all employees under the keen, creative administration of the leadership, and most importantly, the strategic orientation and the right solutions to implement proposed objectives.
PM3’s development has not only brought great significance for the company, but also for the requirements of social development. The stable power grid that PM3 annually synchronizes to national grid contributes to the sustainable development of many economic sectors and living conditions of communities.
INVESTMENT IN TRAINING: USD 4.000/ EMPLOYEE / YEAR
It is one of the objectives that PM3 towards in recent years. PM3 always determine that human resource is the most important factor. If the plant is well equipped, with no skilled people to operate, then it does not bring about effectiveness. PM3, therefore, always focus on training work. Each year, PM3 expend about US$300,000-400,000 for training fund, that is to say every staff is received US$3,000-4,000 / year for training cost.
RESPONSIBILITIES TO THE COMMUNITY
Not only is PM3 an excellent company in production and business, but also makes significant contributions to the charity program for poor patients and unfortunate children. Yearly, PM3 donates billions dong for various charitable activities in Ba Ria - Vung Tau, such as eye surgery for the poor, fund for the victims of agent orange; blood donation program; allowances for the poor, disabled people in national festival, New Year; PM3 scholarship; children consultancy office project, building primary school in Tan Thanh district... Especially, PM3 presented dialysis systems for Le Loi and Ba Ria Hospitals, actively raising the efficiency of health care for people in the province, reducing the burden of costs for indigent patients who previously treated at hospitals in Ho Chi Minh city.
