Con Dao District People"s Committee sent a proposal to BR-VT People’s Committee on the approval for building a domestic waste treatment plant and purchasing waste treatment technology in Con Dao in the soonest time.

According to Con Dao district’s leaders, since the demand of development, the amount of waste in Con Dao is increasing while the local has not yet any waste treatment plant, but only collecting garbage at a dump nearby Nhat beach - a beautiful beach will be exploited for tourism activities. This has caused unaesthetic and polluted environment due to the huge amount of waste collecting in this dump.

Previously, the BR-VT Department of Transport and the Department of Planning and Investment petitioned to the Provincial People’s Committee for capital allocation plan 2011 so that Con Dao district can soon deploy construction of Suoi Ot bridge – Co Ong road. At present, this bridge has been seriously damaged and unsafe for travelers.
