Continue the inspection in Ba Ria - Vung Tau, on November 10, the inspectorate of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment inspected and tested the environmental protection works at Vietsovpetro Joint Venture (VSP) and other VSP divisions.

VSP currently has 13 members with 6667 employees. Sources of waste from oil and gas operations of VSP include domestic wastewater, industrial wastewater which consisting of waste water from reservoirs contaminated with oil, water contaminated acid from washing hand and machines process in workshops. Domestic solid waste, industrial solid waste and industrial hazardous solid waste.

At the time of inspection, VSP showed relatively complete administrative procedures for environmental protection such as assessment reports on environmental impact of oil fields and other service facilities which have been established and approved; implementation of environmental monitoring periodically at offshore works, onshore services; fee payment for environmental protection, investment in wastewater and waste treatment technologies,

The inspectorate commented VSP implemented quite well the works of environmental protection such as: investment in medical waste treatment system, oil contaminated waste water treatment station located at VSP port. Besides, the inspectorate also reminded VSP on waste separation at sources, enhance the awareness of employees in environmental protection.
