Afternoon, November 13, Mr. Tran Minh Sanh, Chairman of BR-VT province chaired the meeting with the Department of Transport on the investment plan, Phase 2 for Road 30/4, and problems in the investment process of the National Road 51B, Vung Tau City.

According to the Department of Transport, the project for upgrading Road 30 / 4 from the Gieng Nuoc (Water Well) Crossroad to Eo Ong Tu with 10.58 km length was approved by the provincial People’s Committee, the total investment capital of nearly VND144 billion. The process of this bidding package deployed slowly due to difficulties, especially in site clearance; thus, it has so far completed construction of the intersection of Gieng Nuoc crossroad - Chi Linh with 3.4 km length, the stretch of about 100m road at the Information Collective’s housing area. The rest from Chi Linh crossroad to Eo Ong Tu with the length of 7.182 km is in the area of extension category, so it has not been recorded in the portfolio in the annual plan targets. Therefore, the Department of Transport proposed the provincial People’s Committee to approve for deployment of investment procedures to complete the National Road 30/4 upgrading project.

According to Department of Transport, construction of National Road construction 51B is not snatched caused difficulties to construction works. At the meeting, Mr. Tran Minh Sanh directed the Vung Tau City People’s Committee in coordination with relevant units to urgently finalize site clearance in December 2010, then hand-over for construction of the two mentioned routes; assign responsibilities for Department of Transport to adjust the value of investment project for the rest of the road 30 / 4 to fit the actual situation.
