As many as 175 official and 25 alternate members will be elected to the 11th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Việt Nam (CPVCC), according to the 11th National Party Congress's press release yesterday.

The press release says that all delegates to the 11th National Congress unanimously agreed on the numbers of official and alternate members at a plenary session on personnel plans in the morning of January 15. The plenary session was chaired by Party leader Nông Đức Mạnh.

The decision was made after Politburo member, Secretary of the CPV Central Committee and Head of its Commission for Organization Hồ Đức Việt presented the 10th Party Central Committee’s report on personnel plans for the 11th Party Central Committee.      

The delegates then worked in groups to discuss the criteria and structure, and study documents on the personnel plans for the 11th Party Central Committee. In the afternoon of the same day, the delegates continued group discussions.           

As scheduled, the delegates will continue to work in groups on January 16 on the personnel plans for the 11 th Party Central Committee./.
