The Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has submitted to the Government for approval a project to assist Laos in developing agriculture, rural areas and peasantry from 2011.

The project aims to help Lao Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry to establish a detailed strategy for agricultural development, including assessing the development and situation of the sector, learning experiences from other countries, as well as setting up the vision and solutions for developing the country’s agriculture, rural areas and farmers.

The VND 5-billion project, which is financed by the Vietnamese Government, is scheduled to be carried out from February 2011 to June 2012./.
