Approving draft of project:“Investment on Re-generative Burners for Re-Heating Furnace in Rolling Mill of Vina Kyoei”

On 23rd, February, 2011, DoST of BR-VT organized a working session to assess the draft of project: “Investment in re-generative burners for re-heating furnace of VINA KYOEI’s rolline mill” (VKS). This project belongs to the programme supporting small & medium sized enterprices to innovate equipment & technology in 2010. Project manager is Mr. Yoichi Hoshino, Production Deputy General Director of VINA KYOEI.

On 23rd, February, 2011, DoST of BR-VT organized a working session with 8 members of S&T Council to assess the draft of project: “Investment in re-generative burners for re-heating furnace of VINA KYOEI’s rolline mill” (VKS). This project belongs to the programme supporting small & medium sized enterprices to innovate equipment & technology in 2010. Project manager is Mr. Yoichi Hoshino, Production Deputy General Director of VINA KYOEI. Estimate time for project implementation: From Jan 2010 to Jan 2011 Main purposes of Project focus on innovation of “Re-Heating Furnace” technology; to save energy consumption and reduce CO2 emission & help protect environment. Principle is that via heat recuperation, it can optimize the re-use of heat from waste gas to heat up air for combustion. Previously, It was using a Recuperator system to take heat from waste gas of 8500C to heat up combustion air to 4500C, but this method had a shortcoming that its pipes were gradually blocked with residue leading to low heat recuperation. But this time, with new equipment & technology, it is aimed at reducing such a shortcoming to raise efficiency in heat recuperation & transferation by introducing Re-generative Burners, a new equipment & technology. Each burner has 2 chambers. In each chamber in beehive form (ball as big as 13mm), there are a lot of balls in ceramic material to absorb & transfer heat. With such a principle, the 2 chambers alternately absorb heat from waste gas & then use this heat to heat up combustion air. This helps to save energy & reduce emission waste gas by 12% and Reduce gas emissionby 5,100 metric ton CO2/ year; therefore it can protect environment for comunity & reduce natural resource consumption. Investor hope this can help VKS more in energy saving & other improvement in our operation in the future in order to keep VKS as a leading company regarding high energy efficiency & environment friendly aspect.

After discussion, the S&T Council assesses high economic effectiveness of the project and agrees to support finace for project. Simultaneously,  to reach high effectiveness and success, the Council requires adjustment and addition of concerned contents.
