According to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment’s statistics, out of the 23 seafood processing enterprise in Tan Hai processing zone, only 2 companies have investment licenses and 11 establishments have construction permits.

Therefore, businesses will encounter difficulties in access to banks’ capital, even face problems in borrowing from the Environment Protection Fund when expanding production or invest in construction of waste treatment system because of inadequate procedural requirements. This is one of the causes led to lack of capital to invest in a complete waste treatment infrastructure.

Also, up to now, there have been 9 seafood processing enterprises in Tan Hai Seafood Processing zone being suspended operation or have unsynchronized waste disposal system, according to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment.

To overcome thoroughly the environmental pollution in Tan Hai and Long Son areas, besides efforts of enterprises, it needs to have the support of authorities in accessing to source of capital, waste treatment technology.
