In the recent four years, the Earth Hour has appealed  people to showing their determination to prevent climate change by turning off lights.

The Việt Nam Earth Hour 2011 was advocated by Ministry of Industry and Trade and Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. After Hà Nội (2009) and Hồ Chí Minh city (2010), the Earth Hour this year will be organized in Huế city.

Besides preventing climate change, the Earth Hour in Việt Nam will make contribution to the national goal of saving energy. In 2010, the Earth Hour in Việt Nam saved 500,000 kWh.
