First UTZ CERTIFIED cocoa farms in Vietnam

After six months of training on the UTZ CERTIFIED Code of Conduct for the Cocoa program, three producers (Duc Lap Coffee Company, Thanh Dat and October Coffee Company) have received the UTZ certification for cocoa in Vietnam and more will join in the first quarter of 2011. The first Vietnamese UTZ CERTIFIED cocoa beans were delivered to Cargill in January 2011 from Duc Lap and October Coffee Company in Daklak and Thanh Dat in Ba Ria Vung Tau.

After six months of training on the UTZ CERTIFIED Code of Conduct for the Cocoa program, three producers (Duc Lap Coffee Company, Thanh Dat and October Coffee Company) have received the UTZ certification for cocoa in Vietnam and more will join in the first quarter of 2011. The first Vietnamese UTZ CERTIFIED cocoa beans were delivered to Cargill in January 2011 from Duc Lap and October Coffee Company in Daklak and Thanh Dat in Ba Ria Vung Tau. On February the 22nd Cargill will invite the producers, press and other stakeholders to commemorate the first UTZ cocoa delivery to Cargill's storage in Vietnam.
Cargill is committed to increase their volume of UTZ CERTIFIED cocoa in the next 5 years, already reaching 1200 MT this year.
Cargill VN is not only trading cocoa but they also work very close with UTZ CERTIFIED on technical support including training farmers and developing tools.
