Selection and approval of the list of 2011 provincially scientific themes and projects

On February 18, 2011 Provincially Scientific and Technological Committee (STC) chaired by Mr Võ Thành Kỳ - Vice President of Provincial People Committee – Chairman of the STC organized a meeting to select and approve the list of 2011 provincially scientific themes and projects.

On February 18, 2011 Provincially Scientific and Technological Committee (STC) chaired by Mr Võ Thành Kỳ - Vice President of Provincial People Committee – Chairman of the STC organized a meeting to select and approve the list of 2011 provincially scientific themes and projects.

 

There were 76 themes and projects being registered to ask for doing research. After the first screening done by 6 specific consultative bodies for the selection of the short list, there were 18 ones selected. The short list is then submitted to STC for final selection.   With careful consideration, STC finally reached a consensus of opinion on selecting 12 themes and projects covering 6 fields, including: basic study and environmental protection, technology engineering, information technology, health and education and training, agriculture – forestry – fishery, Social sciences and humanities and tourism.

 

According to STC’s assessment, in 2010, activities of management and implementation of themes and projects have been improved, speeding up applied researches in practice has brought practical significance of enhancing efficiencies in production and business  activities, medical examination and treatment, environmental protection … 

 

Conclusion given at the meeting, Mr Võ Thành Kỳ has highly appreciated results of scientific and technological activities gained during the last couple of years within the province. He also asked Department of Science and Technology for carrying out a study to evaluate the efficiency of themes handed over to sectors to apply in practice to bring into play the strengths and overcome weaknesses in the future.
