The Vietnamese leader made this statement while receiving Lao Deputy PM Thoonglun Sisulit, Special Envoy of Lao Party General Secretary and State President Chummaly Sayasone, who came to convey the results of the 9th National Congress of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP), in Hà Nội on March 28.

Party leader Trọng congratulated Laos on the successful 9 th LPRP National Congress, saying that the success is not only significant for the revolutionary cause of Laos but also a great encouragement for Việt Nam in its renewal and national construction and defense.

He expressed his belief that under the leadership of the LPRP headed by General Secretary and State President Chummaly Sayasone, the Lao people will harvest greater achievements in their renewal cause, to successfully build a peaceful, independent, democratic, united and prosperous Lao country.

Deputy PM Thoonglun Sisulit stressed that the LPRP will consistently pursue its renewal policy with national construction and defense being two strategic tasks, striving to bring Laos out of underdevelopment status by 2020.

He affirmed that the Lao Party, State and people will continue to attach importance to maintaining and promoting the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries./.
