MobiFone, one of the three biggest mobile network operators, once again has been recognized as the most favorite mobile network in Vietnam.

The name “MobiFone” was resounded at the Vietnam Mobile Awards 2010 (VMA) awarding ceremony as the most favorite mobile network in Vietnam. This is for the sixth time the mobile network operator has won the title.

The awarding ceremony opened at 9.30 am of March 26 at Hilton Opera Hotel in Hanoi, gathering Deputy Minister of Information and Communication Nguyen Minh Hong, Deputy Director of the Press Department under the Central Committee for Communication and Education Doan Thi Thuan, former Minister of Information and Communication Mai Liem Truc, and representatives from the awards’ control board, mobile network operators, retail chains and press agencies.

Speaking at the VMA awarding ceremony, Pham Anh Tuan, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of VietNamNet said: “In the last months of 2010 and first months of 2011, while the consumer price index (CPI) kept rising, the telecom service charges kept decreasing. It is clear that the mobile communication market is bringing real benefits to users”.

Tuan stressed that with VMA 2010, information has been checked carefully in order to ensure the authenticity of the released figures.

“We do hope that VMA will become a surveying tool that measures Vietnam’s mobile communication market and serves as the driving force that encourages enterprises operating in this field to continuously improve and develop their quality of services in order to satisfy customers’ demands,” Tuan said.

Deputy Minister of Information and Communication Nguyen Minh Hong noted that after six successful organizations, VMA has “affirmed its deserving position in the field of information – communication”.

“The Ministry of Information and Communication highly appreciates VMA because of the positive impacts it has had on the development of the telecom market. The awards have high levels of accuracy and objectivity, and truly reflect the assessments of consumers about the market, mobile network operators and the quality of services,” Hong said.

With the motto “fairness and transparency”, the title selection has been selected under the strict supervision of the control board, independent to the organization board, which gathers veteran journalists in the field of information technology.

Nokia won a resounding victory as it got four out of the most important titles reserved for mobile phones, including the most important title - the “most favorite mobile brand of the year”. Meanwhile, the titles of “the mobile phone brand which has best customer care service”, and “the most favorite smartphone” were given to Nokia N8.  The title of “the most favorite popular mobile phone brand” was also given to Nokia C3.

Another fast track award, the “most favorite Vietnamese mobile phone brand” has been given to Q-Mobile.

For the fourth time, The Gioi Di Dong pocketed two titles – the “retailer that has best customer care service” and the “retailer most trusted by customers”.

With VMA 2010, an awards category for mobile phone forums was added for the first time. The forums update the new habits of mobile phone users.  This year’s  award was granted to tinhte.vn forum.

Speaking at the ceremony, representative of tinhte.vn said that VMA has really created an interesting playing field for Vietnam’s mobile market, and that the award will be a driving force for tinhte.vn to share more tips, experience and information with users.

MobiFone was recognized as the mobile network which has the best customer care service. Viettel was recognized as the network with the most attractive charge packages.  The title of the best 3G network was granted to VinaPhone.
