Four whizzkids have defeated over 800 students from universities and colleges nationwide to be selected as four in the top ten Vietnamese students to join the Microsoft Office World Champion contest in San Diego, California from July 31 to August 3.
Three achieved the maximum 1000/1000 mark with Tri getting 997/1000 in the final round of the Microsoft Office heats in Vietnam on May 21.

The students, from the city’s Vietnamese American Vocational Training College (VATC), are Nguyen Thi Thanh Truc, Ta Nhat Duc, Nguyen Thanh Tri and Tran Van Hoa.

Three achieved the maximum 1000/1000 mark with Tri getting 997/1000 in the final round of the Microsoft Office heats in Vietnam on May 21.

To encourage success, VATC also supplied a Sony VAIO laptop each and a scholarship to join an advanced Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) training course to prepare for the upcoming world contest.

The students have to take part in one more contest with the other six Vietnamese representatives to earn full financial backing. Only half of the ten get full support for the journey to the U.S. from International Investment Group (IIG) Vietnam, the organizer in Vietnam. The other five will have to pay 50% themselves.

Founded in 2007, VATC has 29 campuses nationwide and is partner of Broward University in the U.S., Cambridge University in the U.K., Australasian Training Academy, Edexcel Organization in the U.K. and Zeeland University in the Netherlands.

Last year, VATC honored to receive the Golden Dragon Award 2009, an  award  voting enterprises invested abroad have contributed significantly to the development of the economy Vietnam.
