After test acceptance: assessment of toxin pollution level in sea products.

On May 6, 2011. the provincially Scientific Committee organized a meeting to check and take over the theme “Survey and assessment of toxin pollution level in sea products. Foundation of methods to control sea products to meet export criteria” by Prof. Dr. Le Huy Ba, Institute for Science, Technology and Environmental Management.

On May 6, 2011. the provincially Scientific Committee organized a meeting to check and take over the theme “Survey and assessment of toxin pollution level in sea products. Foundation of methods to control sea products to meet export criteria” by Prof. Dr. Le Huy Ba, Institute for Science, Technology and Environmental Management.

The theme aims at identifying causes giving rise to trace amount of antibiotic present in sea products, and proposing realizable methods applied to control quality of sea products to meet export criteria.

The content of the research theme consists of gathering data and questionnaire; surveying processes of aquaculture, catching, collecting and processing in accordance with and compliance with the developed ones; studying about strengths and weaknesses of the testing methods for typical quality criteria; organizing workshops with aquaculture specialists for discussing about applicable methods to control quality of sea products, proposing reasonable methods and tools to control efficiently quality criteria in accordance with local conditions, studying the feasibility of the proposed methods applied in practice, advancing general conclusion of the research theme.

The Provincially Scientific Committee made comments on that in recent years, food hygiene and safety issue is becoming serious threat to public health. Especially, state of trace amount of antibiotic present in sea products for exporting is continuously occurring which brings about not only economic loss to enterprises but also  negative influence of prestige on them. Hence, implementing and applying research results of the theme in practice will be practically significant which helps to stimulate stable development of sector of sea product processing in province. Theme was accepted and ranked as above average.
