About 270 offshore fishing boats in the province will be installed satellite equipment free of charge. This program is under the project "Monitoring fishing boats, fishing areas and fishery resources by Movimar satellite technology"; this project is financed by France"s ODA, deployed to 3,000 fish in 28 provinces and coastal cities throughout the country, according to the Agriculture and Rural Development.

After installing satellite system for fishing boats, fishers will easily get weather information, especially information of storms, to actively prevent and control the fishing areas. Thanks to this satellite equipment system, fishers will take the initiative to receive information about storm, tropical low pressure, northeast monsoon from the mainland, as well as authorities in the mainland can gain initiative and continue monitoring the precise coordinates of each boat at sea for sequential 24-hr period, support information of speed and direction of boats.

The fishing boats, which have capacity of 90CV or more and operate in teams, will be equipped with a satellite system. Installation of satellite system will be given priority to the boats operating in teams or the boats playing the role of boat team leaders, rescue boat and marine service ships.
