November 2011: Plan for developing BR-VT logistic services in period 2011-2020

In the afternoon of July 25, Mr. Ho Van Nien - Deputy Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee (PPC) chaired the meeting through the draft of the plan for logistic services development of BR-VT province in the period 2011-2020.

In the afternoon of July 25, Mr. Ho Van Nien - Deputy Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee (PPC) chaired the meeting through the draft of the plan for logistic services development of BR-VT province in the period 2011-2020.

According to Portcoast Consultant Corporation (Portcoast), the outline consists of 10 sections, including a number of important issues such as : Overview of BR-VT province; concept and the operation of logistics services in the world, current status and potential development of BR-VT province’s logistic services; Necessity to build BR-VT become a logistic services center. Of which, 7 key programs including: Development and completion of technical infrastructure for logistic development; planning and construction of logistic center of the province; Organization and operation of logistic services; Enhancing competence of enterprises, which have function of logistics services in the province, to be capable of providing international logistics services; Supporting trade and investment; Training and development of human resources; Formulate mechanisms and policies for development of logistic activities ...

Conclusions at the meeting, Mr. Ho Van Nien, PPC Deputy Chairman directed the departments to actively support Portcoast in order to quickly complete the project, submit for the PPC’s approval in December 2011. Besides, Mr. Ho Van Nien noted that the plan should review and fully evaluate the situation of the logistics sector; plan and facilitate the development of logistics services, arrange ground to build a system of warehouses, yards and service activities in accordance with the spirit of the Fifth Party Congress Resolution of BR-VT province identified the BR-VT economic development goals in the period 2011-2015 and vision to 2020 is to focus to investment in the sea economics, and establish BR-VT province to be an industrial and modernized province.
