The online seminar was broadcasted at four portals, including NASATI (Hanoi), Danang Department of Science and Technology, Can Tho Department of Science and Technology, and Can Tho University.

On 28th Jun, 2011, the online seminar “Opportunities for Access and Publishing S&T SpingerLink Journal” was held at National Agency for Science and Technology Information (NASATI). The online seminar was broadcasted at four portals, including NASATI (Hanoi), Danang Department of Science and Technology, Can Tho Department of Science and Technology, and Can Tho University.

Attending the seminar was Dr. Ta Ba Hung - Director General of NASATI; representative of Springer Publisher, Mr. David Elek - Director of Potential Market; and researchers from departments, institutes, universities and centers of the ministries, branches in nationwide.

Dr. Ta Ba Hung said that this seminar was an opportunity to enhance the quality of S&T research activities in Vietnam through improved accessing to valued international S&T information sources and a great chance to promote Vietnamese researchers and scientists to publish their studies on international journals.

In the seminar, Mr. David Eleck introduced the ability to access over 2,600 electronic journals, with over 5 million full-text of Springer Publisher. In particular, at the seminar, he presented famous S&T information sources in many fields such as life sciences, medicine and health, engineering, chemistry, material science, computer science, earth and environmental sciences and social science and humanities; procedures for Vietnamese researchers and scientists to publish their studies on Springer’s journals. With 2,000 active journals are available online, 80% of these publications are in English and 21% of Nobel awarded authors published their studies on Springer’s journals.
