A Government delegation led by Deputy PM Nguyễn Thiện Nhân have spent 2 days on surveying science and technology activities in some enterprises and research institutes in Hà Nội.

This is part of the Government’s plan on evaluating science and technology sector. 

DPM Nhân asked Hà Nội to facilitate the linkage between managers, scientists and entrepreneurs in scientific and technologic research and application. He also proposed the city establish an online science and technology market.

The DPM highly appreciated enterprises that have actively applied scientific and technological advancements in production. He said the model of Đông Anh Mechanical One-Member Co, Ltd., which intensifies investment in research and selects products that meet market demand, can be applied nationwide.

Chairman of the Hà Nội People’s Committee Nguyễn Thế Thảo said the city has always considered developing science and technology a task and measure to make its economy grow in a rapid and sustainable manner. The municipal authorities have directed and encouraged enterprises to research for better production.

According to Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Nghiêm Vũ Khải, Hà Nội should attract producers to scientific research. Producers will directly benefit from research results.

The city should focus investment on key research projects, he said, noting that the city spent over VND 1.7 trillion worth of state monies on science and technology activities in the 2006 – 2010 period.
