Seminar on Science and Technology Park of Technopole Brest

On November 3, 2011, Department of Science and Technology and the Ba Ria – Vung Tau Union of Science and Technology Associations organized a seminar to introduce the Science and Technology Park of Technoplole Brest and let a representative of Actimar company, Republic of France give a special subject presentation about application of Wera technology for integrated coastal zone and sea management.   Mr. Tran Minh Sanh, Chairman of the Ba Ria – Vung Tau Provincial People’s Committee (PPC) attended the seminar.

On November 3, 2011, Department of Science and Technology and the Ba Ria – Vung Tau Union of Science and Technology Associations organized a seminar to introduce the Science and Technology Park of Technoplole Brest and let a representative of Actimar company, Republic of France give a special subject presentation about application of Wera technology for integrated coastal zone and sea management.   Mr. Tran Minh Sanh, Chairman of the Ba Ria – Vung Tau Provincial People’s Committee (PPC) attended the seminar.

At the seminar, Dr. Vincent, Director of Actimar company gave a presentation about Wera technology and its applications. Actimar is an organization that specializes in a broad range of expertise areas within the marine environment sector. On a basis of utilising advanced technology by means of Wera radar system to measure data on coastal current, sea wave and wind… associated with applying scientific software to analyse collected data, it is possible to propose solutions to respond to adverse effects of the natural phenomenon.

Mr. Tran Minh Sanh, Chairman of the Ba Ria – Vung Tau PPC expressed his ideas that at present, the province was very interested in applying this technology for monitoring and managing coastal erosion phenomenon and predicting risks to whirlpools formation appearing at the Back beach. The Chairman advocated Actimar company’s proposal on a foundation of the Centre for Integrated Coastal Zone and Sea Management to cope with aforementioned issues in the Ba Ria– Vung Tau Province. According to the Chairman’s direction, Department of Science and Technology has been responsible for drafting an official letter. PPC will finalise the letter and send it to Prime Minister and Ministry of Science and Technology to get an agreement that allows the Province to cooperate with Actimar company to implement the Wera radar system in Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province.
