Cha Va bridge - the Southeast"s longest one – inaugurated
In the morning of 12 November, in the jubilant atmosphere of the days of the 20th anniversary of Ba Ria - Vung Tau’s establishment (1991-2011), the transport sector organized the 20th anniversary of this sector establishment and inauguration of Cha Va bridge connecting from Go Gang to Long Son, Vung Tau City.

 

In the morning of 12 November, in the jubilant atmosphere of the days of the 20th anniversary of Ba Ria - Vung Tau’s establishment (1991-2011), the transport sector organized the 20th anniversary of this sector establishment and inauguration of Cha Va bridge connecting from Go Gang to Long Son, Vung Tau City.

Reported at the ceremony, Mr. Vu Ngoc Thao, Director of the Department of Transport, said in the past 20 years, the transportation infrastructure system in the province was invested and built throughout with a total road length of 3670 km, of which 133.6 km of national highways, 617.3 km inter-province route, 381km of urban road and more than 2,530 km of inter-district and inter-commune roads, specialized roads. Operation of public passenger transport was developed in the direction of socialization, meet people"s needs and well serve for the tourism. In particular, the port system was strongly invested, became a key breakthrough in the province"s economic development. In 2010, container volume through ports reached 3.5 million tons and in the first nine months of this year reached 4.5 million tons, Ba Ria - Vung Tau became the center of transportation, goods transit from Vietnam to the continents, including direct shipping to Europe and the United States.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai praised the outstanding achievements of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province in 20 years of trying to build the infrastructure transport system, hoped that in the next time, the province would continue to be the positive nucleus of the Southern key economic zone, especially the port center and seaport logistics services. Deputy Prime Minister said the Government was trying to collect the investment fund for technical infrastructure to meet the development needs of the port system, continue to intensify investment in the service sector and improve port mechanisms and policies in order to develop this economic sector in a comprehensive and effective way.
