One day earlier, the Vietnamese top legislator and Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, co-chaired a Việt Nam-UK business forum which attracted more than 300 businesses from both countries.

Addressing the forum, NA Chairman Hùng stressed that the forum aimed to strengthen cooperation between the two countries’ businesses in all aspects, especially economics, trade, culture and education.

Việt Nam is completing its market economic institution with the focus on creating an equal environment for competition; boosting administrative reforms and human resource development in combination with scientific and technological application; and building synchronous infrastructure, especially for transport system and in urban areas.

In addition, the country is also focusing on maintaining a high economic growth and ensuring social welfares, he added.

These are necessary conditions for consolidating and strengthening the strategic partnership with the UK , he noted.

Mr. Hùng affirmed that the Vietnamese NA will always prioritize the establishment of a legal framework that provides the best conditions for UK businesses while investing in Việt Nam, not only in economics and trade but also in culture, education, health, and science and technology.

Prince Andrew said he was pleased with the participation of a large number of Vietnamese and UK businesses in the forum, considering it vivid evidence of the Strategic Partnership between the two countries.
