On 19 December, Mr. Tran Minh Sanh, Chairman of BR-VT People’s Committee, presided over the meeting on assigning social- economic targets and estimated revenues and expenditures of the State budget in the province in 2012.
In 2012, the province strives to achieve a GDP growth of 11.75% (excluding crude oil and fuel). Economic structure development under orientation of: Industry – construction accounts for 63.77%, services accounts for 32.12%, agriculture - forestry - fishery make up 4.11%. The economic growth rate reaches higher than in 2011. The total local expenditure is approximately VND8964 trillion, up 6.59%. Total investment and development capital gains VND39,071 billion, up 20.35%. Do utmost to create jobs for 34,000 people, including training new jobs for 16,700 people, the trained workforce rate occupies 61%; provincial standard poverty rate is down to 6.67%, rate of students completed high school programs and continuing education reaches 96%; 100% of solid waste and 83% of industrial wastes are collected and handled according to national standards.
On the basis of targets set out, the provincial People’s Committee assigned specific targets for each sector, locality and instruct measures to implement the planned targets; management and operating amounts of revenue and expenditures in the province in 2012.
Accordingly, in 2012, the province will continue to carry out measures to curb inflation, stabilize the economics as per the Government’s policies; attach importance to develop sectors of services, tourism, seaport and petroleum; continue implementing supporting policies of agriculture - fishery development, construction of new countryside; mobilize and efficiently use national and international resources, synchronously expedite measures of compensation, site clearance and resettlement; fully invest in technical infrastructure to promote investment projects, accelerate transfer of registered capital to implemented capital of projects poured in the province; well implement social welfare policies; focus on training, programs of poverty reduction; improve quality of people life, education; protect ecological environment; form the firm defense and security, political – social stabilization.
