On May 8, the Department of Transportaion had a work meeting with Bien Hoa- Vung Tau Expressway Development Company (BVEC) about progressing of the project of upgrading, expanding Highway 51 through Ba Ria-Vung Tau province.

According to Mr.Nguyen Thanh Hoa, Deputy General Director of BVEC, up to now, the company has completed all problems related to ground clearance of Highway 51 (except 15 households did not hand-over ground to investor). Mr.Hoa said that, the Highway through Ba Ria-Vung Tau will be completed in August 2.

As know, National Highway 51, which connects Dong Nai and Ba Ria-Vung Tau provinces has total length of 72.7-km, stretching from a T-junction at the foot of Dong Nai Bridge. The project for extension of Highway 51 after completion will have 6 car-lanes, 2 mixed lanes. On overall newly-built line and extends, there will be 18 bridges crossing the river, 12 bridges for pedestrians. This is considered as a national key program taking privilege to construct from Ministry of Traffic and Transport.
