Mr. Tran Minh Sanh – Chairman of provincial People’s Committee chaired a meeting to listen draft report of program that executes Resolution No 8 of BR-VT Party Committee regarding social – economic development from now to 2015 and aim at 2020. With target of building and turning Vung Tau city into 1st type city, directly under province in 2015, executed program of Vung Tau city’s Party Committee pointed out some major missions. About economy, Vung Tau tries to reach 13,5% of yearly average growth speed in which service fields make up 64%, industry and small industries gets 27%, aquatic product reaches 9%. In tourist branch, Vung Tau tries to welcome 6 million turns of tourists from now to 2015, and up to 10 millions turns in 2020, tourist turn-over increases about 20% each year. About cultural and social fields, through loan programs and job fairs, local authority hoped to reduce rate of poor families down to 1,3% in 2015 and 1% in 2020. Up to 2015, 100% of wards and communes have center of culture and studying; 85% of quarters reach “cultural standard”; 91% families get title “cultural family standard” etc. After listening to opinions of departments and branches, Mr. Tran Minh Sanh required Vung Tau city to finish statements of program which point out clearly information of construction needed to be built, data of poverty reduction program, number of deficient school etc, especially adds solution for national security and defense.
