Japan, Germany among top education partners, DPM says

Deputy PM Nguyen Thien Nhan chaired a meeting on July 13 with Japanese and German business associations to discuss on ways to beef up Vietnam’s international integration in education, science and technology.

Opening the event, Deputy PM Nhan said Vietnam has entered a new development stage, thus the Government established the Committee which is responsible for seeking strong partners to help create breakthroughs in the development of education, science and technology.

The Government considers Japanese and German businesses as the major potential partners, said the Deputy PM.

The Vietnamese Government is right to pay due attention to international integration in these areas, which would bring huge benefits in the near future, said Managing Director of Robert Bosch Vietnam Co. Ltd. Vo Quang Hue.

Representatives at the meeting also asked Vietnam’s agencies to amend regulations to encourage laborers to work for a longer period.

The Deputy PM assigned the Ministry of Education and Training and Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to draw up the cooperative programs with Japanese and German business associations between 2013 and 2015 to sign with German side in this September and Japanese side in this October.
