 The Ministry of Finance issued Wednesday a circular under which Vietnam will eliminated the 3% export tax on fresh coconuts since September 1, 2012.

The move aims to ease difficulties against coconut growers and exporters amid shrinking demand on the global market.

The People’s Committee of Ben Tre reported that prices of coconut decreased sharply in the first half of 2012 and coconut export value also dipped 51.3% to US$21.2 million against the same period last year./.
