The international exhibition on power saving products and green energies, Enertec Expo 2012, was kicked off on August 15 at the Tan Binh Exhibition and Convention Centre in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC).

The expo was jointly organized by the city’s Department of Industry and Trade and the HCMC Power Corporation.

The four-day the exhibition features nearly 100 enterprises showcasing their power saving, environmentally friendly and renewable energy products at 120 stands.

Deputy Director of HCMC’s Department of Industry and Trade Le Van Khoa said that the exhibition is one of the activities included in the national strategy for efficient energy use.

It provides a good chance for domestic enterprises to promote their high-tech products to consumers, expands their market and help overseas firms seek out new partners, distributors and importers.

During the exhibition, several workshops on the country’s power strategy for 2011 to 2020 will be held, mainly focusing on power saving products and ways of saving energy.

Under the motto "Smart city – saving energy for a civilized and modern city", a contest will be hosted to create a work of art and raise the publics awareness of the importance of saving energy.
