On 5 October, Ba Ria – Vung Tau Department of Science & Technology organized a council to approve the subject “Building hypertension treatment – management model for adults at medical centers of Xuyen Moc District” chaired by Doctor CKII Ho Van Hai.

Hypertension rate in Vietnam increases fast, however, the rate of patients who gets a good treatment is very low. With current population 87 million Vietnamese, it is estimated that the number of hypertension is about 7,3 million people and unless there are good provision measures and management until 2025, there will be about 11 million hypertension Vietnamese. If hypertension is not treated well, its side-effects can cause deaths or sequela, negative impacts on working power of patients and also burden for family and society.

Doctor CKII Ho Van Hai stressed that the project focuses on the important role of communal medical stations and centers towards hypertension treatment. It creates a good condition for patients to move and get treatment at their residence, then they will comply with treatment schedule better. The research result will be applied to perform hypertension treatment and management model at districts of Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province.

The council agreed to execute the subject and approved to change the name of the subject into “Effectiveness of hypertension treatment – management model for adults at commune, hamlet medical stations of Xuyen Moc district”.
