The Electronic portal of the Ministry of Transport has just published the information of selected contractors for the Cai Mep and Thi Vai ports. Accordingly, on 12 December, the Government’s Office had a document to the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Finance to inform the instruction of Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai on the option for rental and lease methods of exploiting the Cai Mep and Thi Vai terminals’ infrastructure.

According to this document, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai requested the Ministry of Transport in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance to made ​​the development, approval of rental rates and the selection of contractors to exploit the Cai Mep and Thi Vai ports in compliance with the law and the direction of the Prime Minister in the Document No. 46/TTg-KTN dated 11-01-2012.

The content of Document No. 46/TTg-KTN specified that the Prime Minister agreed the application of contractor appointment in principle to choose the operator for Cai Mep and Thi Vai terminals as the proposal of the Ministry of Transport, provided that Vietnamese enterprises are capable to arrange funds, ensure the financial balance and stability of the business. At the same time, the Ministry of Transport shall appoint contractors to choose the operators for Cai Mep and Thi Vai terminals of the Cai Mep - Thi Vai International Terminals in accordance with the law, and report to the Prime Minister for approval.
