Promoting Science and Technology Cooperation between Vietnam and Slovakia

In the afternoon of April 11, 2013, meeting with the delegation of the Republic of Slovakia led by Mr. Pavol Pavlis, Deputy Minister of Economics to visit Vietnam, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Nghiêm Vũ Khải affirmed that Vietnam has paid special attention to cooperative relations with Slovakia and at the same time highly appreciated Vietnam’s consideration, support and guidelines on promoting cooperation with Slovakia. Vietnam and Slovakia are the two countries which have long-term traditional relations. Vietnam and Slovakia are the two countries which have long-term traditional relations. With Slovakia’s strengths, Vietnam has hoped to learn from Slovakia’s experience in fields of atomic energy and standards, metrology and quality. Mr. Pavol Pavlis affirmed that Slovakia has had abundant and comprehensive experience in atomic energy field, therefore Slovakia hopes to share its experience with Vietnam, especially in the context that Vietnam is prepare to build the first nuclear electricity plant. At the same time, Mr. Pavol Pavlis highly appreciated Vietnam’s human resource and emphasized that Slovakia has been willing to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese young generations to study and do research in Slovakia. Deputy Minister Nghiêm Vũ Khải expressed his strong belief that after Pavol Pavlis’ visit, cooperative relations on S&T field between the two countries would be continuously developed. Especially, Vietnam - Slovakia cooperation would be the bridge for Slovakia to enter into other nations in the South East Asian region.
