On June 12th 2014, Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Quan had a reception with the Swiss State Secretary for Education and Research Mauro Dell’ Ambrogio.

At the reception, the Minister highly appreciated the Vietnam - Switzerland scientific and technological cooperation during the past 4 decades for many important results, particularly in a number of projects in the field of intellectual property; standards, metrology and quality, and confirmed the huge potential of cooperation between the two sides in the future. The two sides shared the possibility of cooperation in a number of potential and strong areas of the two countries as biotechnology, precision engineering, and training of high-level human resources in some scientific and technological areas for Vietnam. 

State Secretary Mauro Dell 'Ambrogio shared information on collaboration of training experts in the intellectual property field by short-term forms in Switzerland as well as distance learning courses with other countries and expressed the willing to receive students from Vietnam. The two sides also made consent to be going to sign a mutual long-term program of science and technology cooperation.
