Select research subject to restore and conserve Scaly giant clam

On 11 July, 2014 Department of Science & Technology Ba Ria-Vung Tau organized to select a topic "Research and application of conservation forms to restore and conserve Scaly giant clam in Con Dao Island" by engineer Nguyen Duc Thang (Management Board of Con Dao National Park) and Associate Professor Bui Van Lai. Mr.Mai Thanh Quang – Director of the Department is selection committee chairman.

On 11 July, 2014 Department of Science & Technology Ba Ria-Vung Tau organized to select a topic "Research and application of conservation forms to restore and conserve Scaly giant clam in Con Dao Island" by engineer Nguyen Duc Thang (Management Board of Con Dao National Park) and Associate Professor Bui Van Lai. Mr.Mai Thanh Quang – Director of the Department is selection committee chairman.

The project is to investigate and determine quantity, distribution and report bio-logical characteristics of Scaly giant clam,creating a solid base to approach usefully for management; establish rescue locations and relocate individuals of Scaly giant clam for concentrated growth; create favorable conditions in term of density and for implementation of reproductive processes and release seed sources in nature, simultaneously research and apply conservation forms of Scaly giant clam to other local coastal areas regarding to gen source conservation in particular and sea bio-diversity in general.

Selection Committee agrees to let the subject be implemented, however the chairman is required to complete some opinions on contents to get higher results. Time of project implementation is within 24 months.
