Select subject on researching and preserving gene source of custard-apple in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province

On 24 September, 2014 Department of Science & Technology BR-BT organized to select a subject on “researching and preserving gene source of custard-apple in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province”. There are 3 units participating including Eastern South Fruit Research Center (Ba Ria-Vung Tau), Head of subject is MA. Do Van Quy; The Institute of Agricultural Science for Southern Vietnam – IAS, head of subject is MA. Truong Quoc Anh; Nong Lam University HCM, head of subject is Dr.Pham Duc Toan.

Subject by MA Do Van Quy was selected according to overall evaluation, score of Selection Council.

Target of subject is “Research and preservate gene source of custard-apple in Ba Ria-Vung Tau” headed by MA. Do Van Quy. Specifically, it is investigation of 30-40 races of custard-apple. Identify gene source exactly through analysis of genetic diversification by molecule marker; preservate and evaluate about 30 genetic objects of custard-apple; recognize and use 5-7 races and add valuable function of genetic objects for cross-breeding and deeper other researches. Time to implement the subject is 30 months (from June 2014 to November 2016).
