Report on application of biological buffer in treating breeding waste
On 25 November, 2014 at People’s Committee of Binh
Ba commune (Chau Duc district), Center for Informatics, Science and Technology
information (Department of Science & Technology) in combination with
Farmers’ association of Chau Duc district held a report on “Application of
biological buffer in treatment of breeding waste” presented by Ass.pro.Dr.Duong
Nguyen Khang – Lecturer of Nong Lam University (NLU), Hochiminh city. Participants included representatives of Farmers’
Association of Chau Duc district and Binh Ba commune (Chau Duc district) and

Lam University (NLU), Hochiminh city.
Participants included representatives of Farmers’ Association of Chau Duc
district and Binh Ba commune (Chau Duc district) and about 150 breeding
households on Chau Duc district.
At the report, Ass.pro.Dr.Duong Nguyen Khang
presented application of biological buffer in breeding pigs and chickens,
ducks; process to make biological buffer in treating waste and use biological
finished products; introduce some models in the province and other localities
applied the method in breeding.
Application of biological buffer in treatment of
breeding waste has just been carried out in Vietnam with raw materials rice
husk, sawdust. This method in breeding will minimize bad smell from waste and
respiration from domestic animals, reduce labor power, expenses of electricity,
water, reduce environment pollution and increase resistance for domestic
animals. At the national conference on summarizing experience and result after
3 years applying biological buffer model in breeding (2011-2013) on 22 May,
2014, the whole country has 691 farms and 57,755 households using biological
buffer in breeding chickens with total 5,400,000m2 buffer
foundations; 28 farms and 3,658 households using biological buffer in breeding
pigs with total 70,000 m2 buffer foundations.
At Ba Ria-Vung Tau
province, application of biological buffer in treating waste has been carried
out by many pig and chicken breeding households with large scale and brings
about good result. The report actually brought about useful knowledge for
farmers of Chau Duc district in treating breeding waste which bright about
economic result as well as protecting environment and water source.
