Prof. Dr . Nguyen Quoc Sy became an official member of the Electrical Sciences Academy of Russia after getting an absolute majority in a vote on February 17.

Sy, born in 1967, is currently head of the Plasma Energy Faculty under the Moscow Power Engineering Institute. He is also director of the Plasma Physics Laboratory and has more than 30 years of experience in plasma physics.

His research projects, independently or in collaboration with other colleagues, have been applied in a wide range of areas such as aerospace, military, security and economy.

Sy also helped train many young Vietnamese scientists and students studying at the institute.
