From 23 to 25 of June 2015, in Hanoi, Vietnam Atomic Energy Agency (Ministry of Science and Technology) co-ordinated with Russian agencies to hold the Conference on Vietnam - Russia cooperation in developing nuclear power infrastructurein order to outline the cooperative framework of nuclear power infrastructure developmentbetween Vietnam and Russia in the phase of 2015-2017.

The Conference was celebrated under the witness of both Vietnamese and Russian representatives from ministries/sector, organisations, including Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, ROSATOM (Russia)…

At the Conference, the participants all agreed that the development of nuclear power infrastructure, (for example, strengthening the training in state management, research - deployment, technical assistance, management and operation of nuclear power plants...) in the countries where have newly begun a nuclear programme like Vietnam is a necessary condition for successful implementation of the nuclear power programme for peaceful purposes. During the three days of the Conference, the participants discussed the framework of bilateral cooperation plan to develop the Vietnam nuclear power infrastructure in the phase of 2015-2017 according to the 19 issues recommended by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which focus on three main groups, including training and development of human resources, improvement of legal framework, and propaganda for nuclear power.
