Japan pledges to enhance ties with VietNam

Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida affirmed that his country will enhance relations with Viet Nam for peace and stability in the East Sea.

Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida affirmed that his country will enhance relations with Viet Nam for peace and stability in the East Sea.

He made the statement while meeting with Vietnamese Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong who is on a four-day visit to Japan.

Mr. Kishida also committed to continued provision of official development assistance for Viet Nam’s infrastructure development.

Party leader Trong affirmed that Viet Nam always regards the Northeast Asian country as a top partner while asking Mr Kishida to continue measures to further enhance bilateral political trust and economic connectivity, support sustainable development in Viet Nam, and enhance coordination on international issues.

The same day, Party leader Trong held talks with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe during which the latter pledged to provide ¥100 billion in official development assistance for Viet Nam’s North-South road and port projects./.
