Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said Viet Nam expects to work with China for the substantial development of the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership with China during his talks with Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli in Beijing on Tuesday.

Deputy Prime Minister Phuc is currently on an official visit to China, where he will attend the China-ASEAN Exhibition and the 12th China-ASEAN Trade and Investment Summit in Guangxi province.
The two leaders agreed to maintain high-level contacts and visits, enhance people-to-people exchanges as well as cooperation between ministries, agencies and localities.
They agreed that both countries should beef up economic, trade and investment ties as well as infrastructure connectivity in a balanced, healthy and effective manner.
Deputy Prime Minister Phuc suggested that Chinese Government support its businesses to increase imports of Vietnamese agro-forestry and aquatic products and expanding investments in Viet Nam.
He also asked the Chinese side to coordinate with Viet Nam in clearing obstacles in joint projects underway in Viet Nam and in sharing foreign exchange and financial system management experience.
Deputy Prime Minister Phuc stressed that issues related to sovereignty and national interests are sacred and senior leaders of the two countries had reached common perceptions on the issues, including working together to manage sea disputes, not taking any actions that could complicate or worsen disputes and maintaining peace and stability in the East Sea for peace, stability and development in the region in line with international law – particularly the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.
Vice-Premier Zhang congratulated Viet Nam on its 70 years of construction and development accomplishments and welcomed Deputy Prime Minister Phuc’s visit.
He hoped to retain high-level contacts and strategic dialogues, reinforce political trust and expand people-to-people exchange.
After the talks, the two leaders witnessed the signing of several cooperation documents, including an agreement on non-refundable aid between the two governments and the minutes from the first meeting of the working group on monetary cooperation between the two State banks./.
