On the morning of November 5th, 2015, in Vung Tau City, Ministry of Science & Technology in collaboration with the People’s Committee of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province officially opened the Techdemo 2015.

On the morning of November 5th, 2015, in Vung Tau City, Ministry of Science & Technology in collaboration with the People’s Committee of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province officially opened the Techdemo 2015.

The opening ceremony has the presence of Minister of Science & Technology Nguyen Quan, Deputy Minister of Science & Technology Tran Van Tung; Member of the Party’s Central Committee - former Provincial Party Committee’s Secretary Nguyen Tuan Minh; Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee cum Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council Nguyen Hong Linh; Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Le Thanh Dung and Leaders of other provinces and cities in Southern Vietnam . Counselor of the Republic of Czech, representatives of relevant Departments of the Ministry of Science & Technology, Leaders of provincial Departments of Science & Technology; representatives of domestic and foreign Funds, Projects, research institutes, universities, and more than 150 enterprises attended the event. About 250 technologies, equipments and researches were introduced at the Techdemo 2015.
In the opening remarks, Mr. Nguyen Quan – Minister of Science & Technology stated fostering science & technology market plays an important role to develop science & technology for industrialization and modernization in the socialist-oriented market economy with deeper integration into global economy. He noted that the Ministry of Science and Technology has basically completed a legal framework for the science and technology market and started the building of intermediate institutions through technology trading floors in major cities, national, regional and international techmarts, and trade fairs to bridge supply and demand.

Mr. Quan also said that the Techdemo 2015 in Ba Ria – Vung Tau incorporated many comprehensive changes in scale, contents and organization. The most four relevant topics on technological supply and demand connection were focused. Also the event provided businesses essential information in order to direct for technological development and innovation when Vietnam joining TPP as well as presented new technologies applicable to the southern region.

Mr. Le Thanh Dung, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ba Ria-Vung Tau indicated that the Techdemo 2015 will promote supply and demand connection among businesses in technological research and application, support businesses in technological development and innovation, thus driving the establishment and development of sci-tech enterprises and attracting private sector’s involvement in investment for science & technology research and development.

The Techdemo 2015 was held from November 5th to 6th to demonstrate latest technologies and connect technological supply and demand in Southern Vietnam. A wide range of consultancy services for technological application, innovation and management as well as financial supports to businesses in technological development were introduced to participating units. Seminars were scheduled during the two-day event with the aims of sharing knowledge and experience in relevant technology topics as well as discussing challenges facing related participants.

The Techdemo 2015 provided participants with opportunities to update knowledge on latest technologies and equipments and promote technological transfer and application as well as present those technologies to domestic and international visitors. More than 250 technological processes, research results and products from various technology fields were introduced such as plant breeding techniques, biotechnology, post-harvest technology for preservation and processing, environmental technology, environmental technology and materials technolog.. Most of these technologies are ready for transfer and application.
