The State Agency of Technology Innovation - Ministry of Science & Technology conducted a seminar on new technologies for urban infrastructure construction and development. The workshop is one of the main activities of the Techdemo 2015.

The seminar welcomed the presence of Mr. Tran Van Tung – Deputy Minister of Science & Technology, Mr. Nguyen Hong Linh –  Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee cum Chairman of the Provincial Council, Mr. Mai Thanh Quang, Director of the Provincial Department of Science & Technology and Leaders of other provinces and cities in Southern Vietnam. Managers of Departments at the Ministry of Science and Technology, Leaders of Department of Science & Technology and representatives of Department of Transport, Department of Construction at others cites and provinces in Southern Vietnam, representatives of domestic and foreign organizations, research institutes, universities, and enterprises also attended the seminar.

Mr. Tung pointed out that the workshop is a good opportunity for sharing knowledge and experiences, seeking cooperation among participants, thus promote technological cooperation, transfer and application in urban infrastructure construction and development in Vietnam.

During the seminar, foreign and local experts presented a wide range of latest technologies for building and developing urban and transport infrastructure originated from developed countries such as Canada, Japan, Korea as well as from Vietnam. Many introduced technologies received high attention and were discussed in depth among scientists, local and foreign enterprises.

Various foreign technologies in the field of construction and urban infrastructure were introduced. Those includes: Expansion joint system used in bridges and roads; fast concrete connection technology in construction; new solutions to curb urban trees, improving foundation built on soft ground; introduction of electrical motor vehicles in urban area; domestic waste water treatment; new metrology system, new technologies to evaluate inventions.

Inventions of two local companies were also introduced in the seminar. Troy International Inc. presented its green – clean technology in construction and the unburned self-supporting brick technology. Ba Ria – Vung Tau Urban Sewerage and Development One Member Ltd. (Busadco) introduced its ferro-cement technology used in rural infrastructure and new solutions protect riverbanks, lakes and costal dikes.
