On
January 15th, the 9th Trade Union Congress of Department of Science and
Technology of BR-VT province took place at the Directorate of Standards,
Metrology and Quality. The Congress saw the presence of Mr. Mai Thanh
Quang – Secretary of Communist Party, director of the department of Science and
Technology, Ms. Le Thi Minh Hoang, deputy chairman of the provincial trade
union of government employees and employees of the Department of Science and Technology.
At
the Congress, participants watched a documentary on remarks of the Union’s
activities during the period from 2010 to 2015. The department’s Trade Union
has engaged in activities to protect rights and legitimate interests of employees.
Actitvities aimed to advocate officials and employees’ understanding of Party’s
policies and compliance of government regulations and take better care of
employees and officials’ life.
Result of union activities was shown by outstanding
statistics. Every year from 2010-2014, 100% of employees fulfilled official
duties each year, in which at least 95% of members achieved the title of the
advanced individual at the primary level; at least 80% of departments gained the
title of advanced department at the primary level, 100% of the department’s
Trade Union obtained the title of good or excellent performance whereas
the Trade Union of Department of Science and Technology received the title of excellent
performance; 1 individual and 1 group (Women’s Affairs Committee) were awarded
certificates of merit from the provincial Trade Union in a programme entitled
“Women who effectively fulfill both work and house duties”. These results
proved encouraging progresses made yearly, which in turn contributed to the following
remarkable achievements of the entire Department of Science and Technology.
Since 2013, the Department has annually achieved award for excellent
performance Department. In particular, it received the Emulation Flag and the Merit
Certificate from the Provincial People’s Committee in 2013 and 2014,
respectively. In 2015, the Trade Union in coordination with the Department organized
a wide range of activities to improve physical and spiritual life of employees,
such as culture and sport festivals, presenting gifts to women and awarding to
employees’ children who gained outstanding achievements in the Provincial and National
Exams.
