On March 29, the Department
of Science and Technology of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province held a Council meeting
to evaluate the research project "Building a experimental model and
transfer the technology of growing chrysanthemum flower from F1 tissue culture in Lam Dong province to Ba
Ria - Vung Tau". The project was led by BSc. Ma Thi Anh Thu, Center for
Application of Scientific and Technological Progress (DOST BR-VT). The project was
implemented in 10 months, from 4/2015 to 2/2016 (while the planned time was
from 7/2014 to 12/2014).
The objective of the
project was to develop a model for growing chrysanthemum flower from F1 tissue
culture of Lam Dong province in Ba Ria – Vung Tau province. The model used encircling
nets to prevent insects and an automatic sprinkler system which is an Israeli water-saving
technology and phototherapy technology. The project was carried in an area of
500m2 of 1 farm in Long Dien district, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.
According to the project
leader, the project has successfully built an experimental model of growing
chrysanthemum flower from seeds of F1 tissue culture in an area of 500m2
inside Mr. Nguyen Van Bong’s farm (Hai Binh, Long Hai town, Long Dien district).
5000 F1 tissue culture seedlings were bred to become 32.000 seedlings with 21.100
trees sold to the markets and the remaining 10.900 trees used for next season
breeding.
The Council acknowledged
the project’s high practical value, agreed to accept the project and graded it
