On June 16th, the Department of Science and Technology held a Committee to select project lead for the pilot project "Appling soil stabilization technology in constructing road in Kim Long commune, Chau Duc district, Ba Ria – Vung Tau province using RoadPacker soil stabilizer". PhD. Nguyen Trong Tien and his team from Troy International Co., Ltd. were chosen to carry the implementation the project.

RoadPacker soil stabilizer is widely used in constructing road and making unfired stabilized earth bricks used in civil construction and industrial building. The method has been used in developed countries for years because of several advantages such as being more environmentally friendly, quicker, cheaper and more reliable than traditional ones. Soil stabilizer is applied to harden soft earth, greatly reducing the cost compared to traditional methods.

The goal of the pilot project is to use RoadPacker earth stabilizer to construct 1 kilometer of rural road that complies with National Building Codes and satisfies international standards of soil stabilizer. The purpose of the project is to experiment a new road construction method to avoid the use of asphalt and other petroleum byproducts.

The Committee evaluated the project with high applicability. The project was agreed to be implemented but some minor modifications is need to be made as the committee’s suggestion.
