On June 23^rd, at the Provincial Convention Center, the provincial Farmers 'Association held a meeting to review the 10 year implementation of Resolution no. 06-NQ/HND and the 5 year implementation of Resolution no. 06-NQ/HND and signed a cooperation program with the Department of Science and Technology in the period 2016-2020. The meeting saw the presence of Mr. Doan Van Hai - Provincial Commissioner - Chairman of the Farmers’ Association, Mr. Nguyen Kim Truong - Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology. Attending the event were delegates who represented for successful models in provincial movements such as "Skilled and creative farmers” and "Support economic development of poor farmers" movements.

In the past 5 years (2011-2015), the Department of Science and Technology in collaboration with the provincial Farmers Association have implemented several important projects in agricultural innovation. Some featured projects included the provincial pilot project "Experimenting the commercial crab farming model of in earthen ponds and rice fields", the project "Developing a cultivation model for red flesh dragon fruits in accordance to VietGAP standard at Bung Rieng Commune - Xuyen Moc district" and projects to promote association members to participate in provincial and national contests such as "National Technical Innovation", "Innovative Farmers Contest" and "Provincial Technical Innovation" contest.

Besides, the two organizations co-organized other activities such as: organizing technical training courses for farmers on how to access scientific and technological information on the Internet;  creating newsletters of Farmers’ Association; organizing contests for communicators of scientific and technological information; organizing workshops for collaborators and volunteers; establish an electronic library of science and technology information; organizing technical workshops to introduce to farmers newest agricultural technologies and techniques.

With the close guidance of the leaders of the Department of Science and Technology and the Provincial Farmers’ Association, the coordination program between the Department of Science and Technology and the Farmers' Association of BR-VT province in the period 2011-2015 has achieved remarkable results, reaffirming the performance of the mutual collaboration. Based on the results achieved in the previous five year period, the two organizations agreed to sign a new collaboration project titled "the coordination program between the Department of Science and Technology and the Farmers' Association of BR-VT province in the period 2016-2020".
