The conference also saw the presence of Ms. Nguyen Thi Yen, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Tran Van Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, representatives of provincial departments and agencies and more than 200 delegates from enterprises operating in agriculture sector in Ba Ria - Vung Tau and other cities and provinces.

The conference aims to introduce and promote potentials and opportunities for investment in high-tech agriculture in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province; to create opportunities for direct meetings, information sharing and investment promotion with nearby provinces, high-tech agricultural zones and enterprises in order to connect and cooperate to form a linked network of high-tech agricultural areas and attract investment in high-tech agriculture, thus gain and  take comparative advantage of each region in attracting investment, transferring technology and forming the supply chain of high-tech agricultural products; to introduce incentive policies and areas calling for investment in high-tech agriculture in BR-VT to attract business investment in such areas.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Hong Linh emphasized that the conference on investment promotion in high-tech agriculture demonstrates the great determination of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province to boost agricultural development. He suggested that enterprises investing in agriculture should apply high technology since the provincial authority does not accept traditional agriculture with high level of land use and water consumption but low productivity. In addition, such enterprises should also develop a close agricultural production chain from production to distribution. After successful application, these enterprises need to guide the farmers in the province to replicate the production model and develop large-scale production areas to meet the market demands, thus the prosperity of businesses will go together with the prosperity of farmers.

Furthermore, Mr. Nguyen Hong Linh asked the provincial Departments and Agencies to advise the provincial Party Committee, the People's Committee to remove appropriate barriers and policies to support enterprises and investors, promote infrastructure investment in order to facilitate access to electricity, water and traffic road in agricultural areas and create favorable conditions for agricultural development, especially in the areas enterprises have projects. The provincial Departments, in particular the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development also need to fully implement incentive policies and proposals for effective employment of high-tech agricultural development programs.
