Following the success of the event in Ho Chi Minh City on December 1, TopDev—a leading IT recruiter—in collaboration with the Vietnam E-commerce Association (VECOM) organised Vietnam Web Summit 2017 this morning in Hanoi.

Vietnam Web Summit is the largest annual web and internet festival in Vietnam, aiming to update participants on IT-related matters through presentations held by industry leaders from well-known internet and tech companies.

The event is an important item on the agenda of Vietnamese developers, marketers, designers, and businessmen. This year, Vietnam Web Summit 2017 attracted over 9,000 developers and more than 100 experts, speakers, and representatives from global corporations such as Amazon Web Service (AWS), Facebook, Microsoft, Lazada, Nielsen, and MasterCard.

Nguyen Thanh Hung, president of VECOM, said, "According to experts, in 2017, we have seen the explosion of a series of web technologies, namely AI, advanced machine learning, virtual assistant, virtual reality and augmented reality, among others. Especially as the 4.0 industrial revolution is approaching and new technologies come out day by day, Vietnam Web Summit 2017 is a great opportunity for businesses and developers to update on the latest web technologies, interact directly with leading industry experts, and attend a forum to meet and discuss opportunities for co-operation and introduce their products to the community."

Vietnam Web Summit 2017 exhibits a large number of demo products from enterprises, as well as the latest technology ideas from technology groups and tech startups. The event is a great chance to befriend and network with potential business partners and fund representatives. Recruiting is also among the activities that bring valuable benefits to both businesses and attendees.

At the event, experts presented over 100 in-depth topics on technological advances and E-commerce, offering updates, identifying trends, and making predictions about the internet industry in Vietnam. This year's plenary session included representatives from eight companies—AWS, Facebook, MasterCard, Zalo, Google, Nielsen, Hope Ventures, and Time Universal—who presented new knowledge and predictions relating to the areas of web, e-commerce, payment, and digital marketing. At the event, many enterprises shared their success stories of leveraging web and internet technologies for e-commerce, setting up multiple retail channels or customer loyalty programmes.

"This year's topics are mostly about marketing as with the development of new technology in recent years, the field has changed dramatically and new terms have appeared in professional jargon. One of the most effective marketing strategies for e-commerce businesses is to build an official website with great appeal for potential customers," said Tran Duc Tam, head representative of Z.com Vietnam, one of the leading domain name providers in Vietnam.

"Using a reliable domain name extension will help enterprises win the trust of their customers. For this reason, we encourage businesses to use .com domain as this is the standard domain name recognised internationally by online business operations," said Tam.

Founded on June 25, 2007, VECOM is a non-governmental and non-profit organisation. VECOM’s members include corporations, organizations, and individuals who directly work in the e-commerce industry. VECOM operates all over Vietnam on a voluntary basis, for the purpose of gathering, uniting, co-operating, supporting, and protecting all members to develop he Vietnamese e-commerce industry.
