On the afternoon of April 6, the Department of Science and Technology held a conference on "Startup development and science and technology policies to support startups” at the Provincial Conference Center. The event saw the presence of Mr. Le Van Minh, Provincial Party Committee Member, Secretary of Provincial Youth Union; Mr. Mai Thanh Quang, Director of Department of Science and Technology; Mr. Pham Duy Hieu, Director of Startup Vietnam Foundation, representatives of government agencies, startups and businesses.

Mr. Pham Duy Hieu - Director of Startup Vietnam Foundation, a Vietnamese non-profit fund working to support startups and local ecosystems in the countries, shared his experiences on the development of start-up projects.

 At the conference, Mr. Mai Thanh Quang, Director of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) introduced the action plan for 2018 of the province to support startups and entrepreneurship. To continued Mr. Quang, Mr. Tran Duy Tam Thanh, representative from the Department introduced supporting policies implemented by DOST that startups can apply for. These included: the LeaderUp acceleration program, the mentoring program, the access to funding program, the science and technology program to support innovation in SMEs, policies to promote science and technology entities, funding for test production, loan and funding program from the provincial Science and Technology Fund and other related programs.
