On the morning of September 27, in Vung Tau City, the Department of Science and Technology held a workshop on technology transfer regulations and resultsof the assessment of production technology in the province. 

The workshop saw the presence of Dr. Do Hoai Nam - Director, theDepartment of Technology Appraisal, Examination and Assessment and Dr. Tran Hau Ngoc - Director, Vietnam Center for Science and Technology Evaluation, the Ministry of Science and Technology. Attending the workshop wereMr. Mai Thanh Quang - Director of Department of Science and Technology of Ba Ria – Vung Tau, together with more than 100 representatives from departments, committees of districts and cities and companies in the province.

At the conference, Dr. Do Hoai Nam introducednew regulations of the new Law on Technology Transfer issued in Decree No. 76/2018/ND-CP dated on 15/5/2018 of the Government and related circulars. Dr. Tran Hau Ngoc reportedon results of the assessment of production technology.

Also at the conference, Mr. Tran Duy Tam Thanh, Director of the Directorate of Standards, Quality and Metrology (DOST), introduced the business support Program on science and technology to help companies in Ba Ria – Vung Tau province improve productivity and product qualities (Decision no. 31/2014/QĐ-UBND)

Apart from experts' reports, the workshop also included a heated discussion between experts, government agencies and participants in order locate and mitigate problems related to current technology transfer regulations.
