In the morning of July 31, 2019, Department of Science and Technology held the Opening Ceremony of "Office for Promotion Start-up Innovation in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province" at Vung Tau City. Attending the event, on the side of the Provincial People's Committee, there was Mr. Tran Van Tuan - Vice Chairman of BR-VT People's Committee; on the Ministry of Science and Technology, there was Mr. Vuong Duc Tuan - Deputy Director of the National Office in Southern Region; on the side of the Department of Science and Technology of the province, there was Mr. Mai Thanh Quang - Director of Department of Science and Technology and representatives of leaders of departments, agencies, provincial union, associations, universities, colleges, start-up support organizations in and outside the province, investors and advisors for start-up.

Speaking at the Ceremony, Mr. Mai Thanh Quang - Director of Department of Science and Technology said: “In order to implement activities that support start-up innovation effectively, it is necessary to build a central unit that does tasks, connects and supports. Especially in the current context, the start-up ecosystem of the province is at an early stage of formation. Therefore, it is important and necessary to form the common workspace for training and incubation for the Vung Tau Office”.

Attending the Ceremony, Mr. Tran Van Tuan - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee said: “With the new headquarters, the activities to support and promote start-up innovation in the province will be increasingly promoted. The office has become a centralized place for connecting and developing start-up ecosystems of the province. Many generations of quality start-up enterprises have been born. They will develop both domestic and international markets. Many of them will be succeeded”.

Continuing at the Ceremony, Mr. Tran Duy Tam Thanh - Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology, Head of the Office implemented the Office's Operation Plan in 2019 and announced the Pre-Incubation Program for start-up projects.  

Start-up innovation space in BR-VT province is not only a exhibition space but also a place for businesses to meet and connect to other businesses in the province, domestic and international. This will help start-ups meet scientists and businesses so that start-up ideas can be realized.
